New Delhi: On Sunday, India recorded 11,739 new covid-19 cases and 25 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per the union health ministry data. The active cases in the country stood at 92,576.
The country saw a drop in cases after it had reported 15,940 cases on 25 June. An increase of 797 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.
India’s cumulative vaccination coverage crossed 197 crore landmark milestone on Saturday. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 2.59 per cent and the weekly positivity rate at 3.25 per cent, according to the ministry.
The country reported 25 deaths with total number of fatalities now at 52,4999. The country saw 10,917 recoveries in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, on Saturday, Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said the country has successfully spearheaded the fight against covid-19 pandemic under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The country also developed a “robust and strong mechanism to counter the public health issues,” he said. “The country has emerged successfully in the management of the pandemic,” the Health and Family Welfare minister added.
