New Delhi: On Wednesday, India reported 14,506 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the country’s tally to 4,34,33,345, the Union Health Ministry said. The active caseload has almost reached the one lakh mark. India’s active cases currently stand at 99,602.In the last 24 hours, active cases increased by 2,902.
As many as 30 deaths were recorded in the country due to the coronavirus, and with it the death toll has climbed to 5,25,077, the data updated at 8 am stated. The national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.56 per cent, the health ministry said. A total of 11,574 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, bringing the total recoveries to 4,28,08,666 across the country.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 3.35 per cent, almost equal to the weekly positivity rate, which was recorded at 3.36 per cent, according to the health ministry. The top five states which registered maximum cases were Maharashtra with 3,482 cases, followed by Kerala with 2,993 cases, Tamil Nadu with 1,484 cases, Karnataka with 968 cases and West Bengal with 954 cases. The five states accounted for 68.11 per cent of the new cases, with Maharashtra alone responsible for 24 per cent of the new cases. ,
India’s Covid vaccination count has surged to 197.46 crore. So far, 101.46 crore people have taken the first dose of the vaccine, and 91.46 crore people have been fully vaccinated in the country.India administered a total of 13,44,788 doses in the last 24 hours. A total of 4,73,717 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
