Crackdown on Exam Malpractices: 244 Individuals Apprehended in UP Constable Recruitment Exam

Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: In a sweeping operation, the Uttar Pradesh Police apprehended or detained 244 individuals across the state in the last three days, targeting those suspected of employing or planning to use unfair means in the police constable recruitment exam.

The arrests were carried out between February 15 and 6 pm on February 18, leading up to the scheduled police constable recruitment exam held on February 17 and 18. The proactive measures by law enforcement were implemented to thwart potential disruptions and maintain the sanctity of the examination process.

District police units and the Special Task Force (STF) collaborated with local intelligence to identify and apprehend individuals involved in or plotting malpractices. Most of the arrests were executed before the accused could carry out their alleged plans to compromise the integrity of the exam through unfair means.

A statement from the state police headquarters in Lucknow confirmed that the arrested or detained individuals are undergoing interrogation following the registration of FIRs against them. Uttar Pradesh Police Chief Prashant Kumar affirmed that strict actions will be taken against those found guilty of engaging in unfair practices during the exam. The swift and robust response underscores the commitment to ensuring a transparent and fair recruitment process for police constables in the state.
