Cricket coach Narendra Shah's objectionable audio with women cricketers went viral, after which he consumed poison. He is currently hospitalized and his condition is said to be stable.
New Delhi: A cricket coach in Uttarakhand tried to commit suicide by consuming poison after an audio clip of him having an objectionable conversation with women cricketers surfaced. At present, the cricket coach is said to be out of danger and the police is probing the matter.
A case has been registered against the accused Narendra Shah on the complaint of the father of a girl taking coaching in Narendra Shah’s cricket academy. Superintendent of Police Sarita Doval said that a person has alleged that the coach spoke obscene language to his daughter and also used derogatory words about her caste.
The girl’s father lodged a complaint at the police station in Nehru Colony. The Superintendent of Police said that acting on the complaint, a case has been registered against Narendra Shah under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code, POCSO Act and SC/ST Act.
Three girls of the Cricket Academy have made such a complaint against Narendra Shah, which is being investigated by the police. On Friday, Narendra Shah tried to commit suicide by consuming poison, after which he was immediately admitted to the hospital. There he is said to be out of danger. It is being told that he took this step after the audio went viral. In the audio, the person talking obscenely with the teenager is calling himself Narendra Shah. Meanwhile, taking cognizance, the Women’s Commission had also directed the police to take action.
