Srinagar: On Sunday, terrorists attacked a team of security forces in South Kashmir’s Pulwama. Terrorist attack A CRPF jawan has been martyred. Terrorists opened fire on a patrol party from a nearby garden at Gangu crossing in Pulwama.
Police said that CRPF’s assistant sub-inspector Vinod Kumar was seriously injured in the firing. He was taken to the hospital for treatment where he died. Police said the entire area has been cordoned off and search operation is on. The area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers, the official said.
According to reports, the attack comes five days after J&K Police’s ASI Mushtaq Ahmed was killed in an attack on a check post in Srinagar’s Lal Bazar on July 12. Ahmed is the ninth policeman killed by terrorists in various attacks this year. Two other policemen, Fayaz Ahmed and Abu Bakr were also injured in this attack. Officials had said that Terrorists opened fire at a check post in Lal Bazar area of Srinagar. The injured policemen were taken to the hospital, where their condition was out of danger.
Top Jaish-e-Mohammed’s top commander Kaiser Koka was also among the two terrorists killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on July 11, police said. The official said that Koka was wanted in several incidents related to terrorism.
