Curbs enforced in Delhi-NCR under GRAP Stage II revoked as Air Quality Index improves

In a statement, the committee said that the air quality in the forecast area is no longer showing signs of deterioration. Due to which the orders under Phase-1 of GRAP are canceled with immediate effect. The CAQM mandates a ban on construction and demolition activities on plots of size equal to or more than 500 square meters when Stage 1 (poor air quality) is in force.

New Delhi: Good news for Delhiites. There has been a steady improvement in the air quality in the national capital for the last few days. In view of this, the Commission for Air Quality Management has removed the restrictions imposed under the first phase of the Graded Response Action Plan implemented on October 5 last year.

However, the institute has instructed the concerned agencies in the Delhi-NCR region to take strict action against those spreading dust and pollution. So that the improvement in air quality can be maintained. In fact, the sub-committee responsible for taking action under GRAP took stock of the situation in a meeting. During this, it was found that the 24-hour average air quality index of Delhi improved to 119 on Thursday. After which it has been decided to remove the restrictions applicable under GRAP.

Explain that the air quality in Delhi-NCR has been divided into four different stages. Stage I – ‘Poor’ (AQI 201-300), Stage II – ‘Very Poor’ (AQI 301-400), Stage III – ‘Severe’ (AQI 401-450) and Stage IV – ‘Very Severe’ (AQI 450 more than).
