Patan: In the last few days, many incidents of fire in electric scooters have come to the fore, after which the government has also been forced to think in this context. Many times a strong message has been given by the government to the electric vehicle manufacturers, but despite this, the incidents of fire in electric scooters have not stopped. Now once again a similar incident has come to the fore. Another e-scooter of Pure EV caught on fire in Gujarat.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, it is seen that Pure EV’s ePluto 7G e-scooter caught fire while charging. The incident took place on Thursday at a house of Suvidhanath Society in Patan district. In the video, the scooter can be seen engulfed in flames. No casualties have been reported in the incident. This is the fifth incident of fire in Pure Energy’s electric scooter during the past few days. As of now, Pure EV has not issued any statement regarding the cause of the fire yet.
Four other Pure EV e-scooters had caught fire before this, the fourth incident was reported from Hyderabad last month. Let us tell you that Pure EV had also recalled 2,000 electric scooters in April. But, now again the incident of fire in its scooter has come to the fore. Earlier, incidents of fire in Ola’s electric scooters have also come to the fore.
The government is planning to introduce EV Battery Standards (BIS standards) for two-wheeler EV vehicles, which will later be rolled out for four-wheelers as well, in the wake of fire and explosion incidents in electric two-wheelers.
