New Delhi: Proud moment for India, Lovepreet Singh of India has done wonders. In the 109 kg category of weightlifting, Lovepreet Singh has won the bronze medal. Lovepreet Singh lifted a total of 355 kg. This category is also a new national record for India.
India’s Lovepreet Singh has won the CWG 2022 bronze medal by lifting a total of 355kg – 163kg in snatch, 192kg in clean and jerk. There were few nervous moments when Australia’s Jackson Roberts-Young went for a massive increase in weight and attempted 211 in his third and final attempt of the round but it was unsuccessful confirming the bronze for Lovepreet. India’s medal tally is now 13 – five gold, four silver and four bronze.

Meanwhile, the Indian women’s hockey team is playing against Canada. In round 2 of the lawn bowls, Indian women’s pair of Lovely Choubey and Nayanmoni Saikia won their match 23-6, while Mridul Borgohain registered a superb 21-5 win in his men’s singles match.
