New Delhi: After the passing of Cyclone Mandous, the Meteorological Department has now issued heavy rain warnings in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. This warning has been issued till Tuesday, 13 December. Mandous has now weakened into a low pressure area over interior Tamil Nadu, interior south Karnataka and north Kerala. But due to its effect, these states may see moderate to heavy rains for the next two days.

The Meteorological Department has said that Mandus extends up to the level of the Earth’s troposphere. At the same time, a Western Disturbance is being seen over Northwest Pakistan.

In the last 24 hours, under the influence of Mandus, light to moderate rains were observed over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Interior Karnataka and Kerala. The rain activity is likely to intensify further which is likely to continue for the next two days. Along with this, light rain has also been observed in parts of Coastal Karnataka, Telangana, Odisha and Chhattisgarh. Now for the coming 24 hours, the Meteorological Department has said that there may be light to moderate rains with heavy rains over Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and southern coast of Kerala.
Not only this, there is a possibility of light to moderate rains in Lakshadweep and Karnataka as well. Along with this, light rain may also occur over Telangana and South Chhattisgarh. Along with these states, rain activity can also be seen in Maharashtra and Goa. There is a possibility of light rain in parts of Vidarbha, Marathwada, South Konkan and Goa, South Madhya Maharashtra and Odisha.
