In a shocking act of brutality, an 18-year-old Dalit woman employed at an oil mill in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, was forcibly pushed into a cauldron of hot oil when she raised her voice against sexual harassment. The incident has left the victim with severe burns, prompting her transfer to Delhi for specialized treatment. The three accused, including the mill owner, have been apprehended in connection with the crime.

As per the complaint filed by the victim’s brother, who also worked at the mill, the accused, identified as mill owner Pramod and associates Raju and Sandip, subjected his sister to harassment at the workplace. Upon her protest, the perpetrators allegedly resorted to casteist abuses before ruthlessly pushing her into the cauldron filled with scalding oil.

Dalit Teen Pushed Into Hot Oil in UP. The victim, now recovering in a Delhi hospital, provided a statement from her bed, recounting the traumatic incident. She detailed how the accused not only misbehaved with her but also hurled verbal abuses before committing the heinous act.

With burns covering over half of her body, including serious injuries to her legs and arms, the victim faces a long road to recovery. The police, responding to the brother’s complaint, registered a case under sections related to attempted murder, assault against a woman, and violations of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Circle Officer Vijay Chaudhary assured that the three accused are in custody, and further legal action is underway.

This horrifying incident has sparked public outcry, emphasizing the urgent need for justice and comprehensive measures to prevent such atrocities.
