The by-election for the seat falling vacant after the death of a sitting Rajya Sabha member from Uttar Pradesh will be held on September 15. The Election Commission gave this information on Tuesday.
Rajya Sabha Bypoll: The dates for the by-election for the Rajya Sabha seat vacated by the demise of senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha member Hardwar Dubey in Uttar Pradesh have been announced. The Election Commission has announced the dates for the by-election for this Rajya Sabha seat. Notification will be issued for nomination on this seat from August 29. Candidates will be able to file their nominations till September 5. The last date for withdrawal of nomination is 8 September 2023. Whereas on September 15, 2023, votes will be cast for the by-election.
On September 15, votes will be cast for this Rajya Sabha seat. The time fixed for voting will be from 9 am to 4 pm. After this, the counting of votes will take place on the same day i.e. at 5 pm. After the announcement of the by-election on the Rajya Sabha seat by the Election Commission, further preparations will start now.
Who was MP Hardwar Dubey?
Hardwar Dubey was originally from Ballia district, he was born on July 1, 1949 in Hussainabad, Ballia, after coming to Agra in 1969 he headed Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. After this, the responsibility of the post of organization minister was given in ABVP. Elected as MLA from Agra Cantonment in 1989 on BJP ticket, won re-election in 1991 and became Minister of State for Finance in Kalyan Singh’s government. In the year 2011, he took over the responsibility of BJP spokesperson and in 2013, the post of State Vice President.
