New Delhi: The chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has called for an investigation into the friend of the woman who was hit and dragged by a car for more than 12 kilometres on Delhi’s roads on the new year’s night. Anjali did not survive the accident, but Nidhi, a friend of hers, ran away and was found by police more than 48 hours after the tragedy.
Maliwal has also called for capital punishment for the culprits.
She said that the accused should be hanged and that the girl who claims to be Anjali’s friend should be investigated.
“Anjali’s friend keeps blaming Anjali for the incident.” I want to know what kind of friend she is.
“She ran home and went to bed when her friend came under a car and screamed and cried for help. She didn’t feel the need to inform anyone about the mishap. She also failed to inform the police. Ajali might have been saved if she had tried, according to a statement from Maliwal.
The head of the women’s panel claimed that Nidhi could not be trusted. “Nidhi has been solely trying to defame Anjali since the cops tracked her. How can a girl be believed who is not even loyal to her deceased friend? Anjali experienced a terrible death. She was dragged for 12 kilometres. Her naked body was discovered on the highway. “Stop blaming the departed soul, who suffered so much pain,” she added.
The police have nabbed five accused who were in the car. One of them is a member of the BJP. All the guilty parties have been identified as Deepak Khanna (26), Amit Khanna (25), Krishan (27), Mithun (26), and Manoj Mittal (27). All of them are in police custody at the moment.
