Delhi: 18 people injured as DTC bus crashes into pillar in Rajouri Garden

New Delhi: An official said that at least 18 people, including the driver and conductor, were injured after a Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus hit a signage pole on a divider in west Delhi's Rajouri Garden area.

New Delhi: An official said that at least 18 people, including the driver and conductor, were injured after a Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus hit a signage pole on a divider in west Delhi’s Rajouri Garden area.

They added that three of them received critical injuries. Official said that he received information at around 11.40 am that the bus running between Sarai Kale Khan and Nangloi collided with the pole on the divider on the ring road.

A senior police officer said that the injured were rescued by a team of police and fire department, and locals who rushed them to hospitals. He added that out of the 18 injured people, 15 have been admitted to the ESIC Hospital at Basai Darapur and three in the DDU Hospital.

Vichitra Veer,Deputy Commissioner of Police (west) said that an FIR under applicable sections of law has been registered at the Rajouri Garden police station. He added that a crime investigation team was called on the spot for inspection.

Giving details about this, he further said,”The reason for the accident will be established based on the report of the crime team and a mechanical inspection of the vehicle.”
