Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia has reached his home. But even before he reached home, his wife’s health deteriorated. Due to this, he had to be admitted to the hospital.
Manish Sisodia has been granted 7 hours leave from jail by the Supreme Court to see his ailing wife and spend some time with him. Sisodia was earlier arrested by the CBI in the Delhi Excise scam. After that, the ED arrested him while investigating the money trail in the same case.
Since that time Sisodia was lodged in Tihar Jail. Here, his wife’s health was continuously deteriorating. In view of this, Manish Sisodia had first applied for bail and later for leave in the Supreme Court in both ED and CBI cases.
He did not get bail in this case, but on the instructions of the Supreme Court, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has given relief of 7 hours. Sisodia, in his application filed in the court, citing his wife’s ill health, said that he should stay with her for some time to stay with her and make other care-related arrangements apart from her treatment.
The court has accepted his application on humanitarian grounds. Along with this, arrangements have been made that Sisodia can stay with his wife from 10 am to 7 pm on June 3 and make other arrangements related to her care.
However, during this time they will also have to take care of some compulsions. In this, mainly they have to stay away from mobile phones and internet. On using these things, a case of contempt of court can be run against them. Following the order of the court, on Saturday morning, the Delhi Police released him from Tihar Jail and sent him to his home.
According to sources in the Delhi Police, a contingent of police will continue to remain with Sisodia and he will be allowed to stay during the leave period as per the arrangement given by the court.
According to the police, the court has clearly said in its guideline that during this 7-hour period, Sisodia will also stay away from the media and will not issue any statement to any media person through any medium.
Not only this, he will not meet anyone other than family members during his meeting with his wife. They have also been asked to keep distance from friends. Please tell that when Sisodia had filed this application in the court, the ED strongly opposed it.
