Delhi Airport gets Bomb Threat: Officials Confirm No Credible Danger

Security was heightened at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) on Tuesday after a bomb threat call targeted a Delhi-Kolkata flight. Deputy Commissioner of Police Usha Rangnani reported that the call was received at approximately 5:15 a.m. However, following a thorough investigation, officials deemed the threat to be a hoax, with no credible danger posed.

Despite the false alarm nature of the call, airport authorities implemented all necessary security protocols to ensure the safety of passengers.

In response to the incident, authorities have launched a probe and registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.

This event is part of a recurring pattern, with recent cases involving hoax bomb threats at the airport. Just days before this incident, a 20-year-old individual was apprehended for falsely reporting a bomb at the airport, seemingly seeking attention. In February, a 38-year-old man from Bihar was arrested for making a similar threat concerning the IGI Airport.

Despite these occurrences, airport officials stress the importance of adhering to safety protocols, emphasizing the ongoing commitment to passengers’ security.
