New Delhi: The much awaited Ashram Flyover will be reopened today for public user from 5 pm. Ashram-DND flyover was under construction for the last two months in Delhi, due to which it was closed. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will inaugurate this flyover and after this, light vehicles will also start plying on it. With the help of this flyover, passengers will get relief from traffic jams. The traffic signal between Ashram Chowk and DND will provide relief to the people and the traffic noise will also be eased.
An advisory has been issued by the Delhi Traffic Police. In an advisory issued on Sunday evening, people have been appealed to use Barapullah flyover for Ashram flyover. This flyover will open at 5 pm today, after which the commuters from Delhi to Noida will get a lot of relief. Only light vehicles will be allowed on this flyover.
The traffic police advisory said that only light vehicles coming from DND and heading towards Gurugram, Chirag Delhi, Kalkaji, Khanpur, Greater Kailash, Saket, AIIMS, INA, and Safdarganj will have to take the Ashram flyover, or Barapulla Flyover.
Heavy vehicles such as buses, trucks etc. will not be allowed to ply on this flyover. People coming from Sarai Kale Khan have been advised not to use Ashram flyover. People have been appealed to follow the instructions of the traffic police so that they do not face any inconvenience.
Commuting between Delhi and Noida will become hassle-free after the Ashram flyover extension is opened to public. It will cut down on travel time between Delhi and Noida by 25 minutes. Let us know that this flyover was closed from 1st January 2023. People traveling from Delhi to Noida had to take the Barapulla flyover. This 1.5 km long flyover connects South Delhi to Noida in Uttar Pradesh. Ashram Chowk South Delhi and Central Delhi are very important links. It connects Mathura Road and Rig Road.
Construction work for the 1,425 metre long flyover extension had started in June 2020 after the project was approved by the Cabinet. The total cost of the project is ₹128.25 crore.
Meanwhile, CM Kejriwal had earlier also denied allegations that a slight delay in opening the route was linked to the arrest of his former Deputy Manish Sisodia. “It is likely to be inaugurated on Monday. The postponement was not due to Sisodia (arrest). But a few works remain which would be completed soon,” he said.
