Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will move the motion of trust vote in the special session of Delhi Assembly on Monday. Kejriwal had earlier said, "I want to bring a vote of confidence in the assembly so that it can be proved before the people of Delhi that BJP's 'Operation Lotus Delhi' has become 'Operation Muddi'."
New Delhi: In the capital Delhi, there is a tussle between the Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP over the liquor policy and the alleged horse-trading of MLAs. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal himself will present the confidence motion in the Delhi Assembly today. It is believed that after discussion on this proposal to be presented in the special session, voting can be done or it can be passed by voice vote.
While Delhi’s Aam Aadmi Party is attacking the BJP for its alleged attempts to topple the government, the BJP is targeting Kejriwal’s liquor policy. Due to this war that broke out between the two parties, there is every possibility of the session of the Vidhan Sabha becoming a ruckus.
Aam Aadmi Party had recently claimed that BJP is trying to topple the Kejriwal government in Delhi. For this, 40 MLAs of the party were offered 20-20 crore rupees. AAP had claimed that party MLAs have been threatened to either join the BJP, or they will be implicated in false cases.
Not only this, Kejriwal had called a meeting of MLAs at his residence in the midst of these political developments. Before the meeting, AAP claimed that some of its MLAs were out of touch. However, after a few hours, the ruling party of Delhi claimed that all the MLAs have been contacted.
On the other hand, BJP vehemently rejected these allegations. BJP said that no such attempt was made to topple the government. Aam Aadmi Party is making up a concoction. So that attention can be diverted from the case of corruption in the liquor policy.
Earlier on Friday, there was a lot of ruckus in the assembly. Where AAP accused BJP of making offers to MLAs. At the same time, BJP MLAs had targeted Sisodia regarding the liquor policy. After this the MLAs were called marshals and thrown out of the house.
CM Kejriwal had said that BJP’s Operation Lotus has failed in Delhi. He had said that despite BJP’s lakhs of efforts, our MLAs did not break. In such a situation, Kejriwal himself had proposed to present the trust vote in the House to prove the strength and solidarity of his government. This was accepted by the Chairman.
The CBI had recently raided the residence of Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in a case related to alleged irregularities and corruption in Delhi’s liquor policy. Sisodia is at number one in the list of 15 accused named in the CBI FIR for violation of liquor policy. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also registered a money laundering case against him. AAP and BJP attack each other after the action against Sisodia.
