New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal has tested positive for COVID-19. Following the development, the Delhi CM has gone into isolation as a precautionary measure.
The CM is likely to be tested for the disease today.
As regards the CM’s wife, she has isolated herself at home for the time being.

Earlier in the day, CM Kejriwal had appealed to the people of the city to stay at home amidst the six-day lockdown that is being enforced in Delhi starting today.
The lockdown was announced yesterday amid the spiralling COVID-19 cases in the national capital. It started at 10 pm yesterday and will continue till 5 am on April 26.
Delhi has now started to register around 25,000 COVID-19 cases Delhi, with 1 in 3 people being tested for the disease returning positive results.
Defending the lockdown, Kejriwal said today that the decision was taken keeping in mind the health and safety of the people.
“The lockdown in Delhi has started today. This decision has been taken in view of your health and safety. Kindly cooperate with the government and stay home to keep safe from the infection,” Kejriwal tweeted.
Announcing the lockdown, Kejriwal had said yesterday that Delhi’s health system had come under extreme pressure due to the spiralling COVID-19 crisis and the same might collapse if tough decisions were not taken.
The lockdown was announced after the weekend curfew that was imposed on Friday night. Earlier this month, the city was put under night curfew from 10 pm to 5 am.
Delhi had recorded its biggest jump in COVID-19 tally with 25,462 fresh cases reported on Sunday.
