Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal stated on Saturday, in response to the arrest of party MLA Amanatullah Khan, "It appears like they are suffering a lot in Gujarat."
New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal stated on Saturday, in response to the arrest of party MLA Amanatullah Khan, “It appears like they are suffering a lot in Gujarat.” This comes a day after the AAP leader was detained by the Anti-Corruption Branch of Delhi Police.
Following raids in relation to irregularities in Delhi Waqf Board recruitment, Amanatullah Khan was taken into custody.
Kejriwal tweeted in opposition to Amanatullah Khan’s arrest, saying “First they arrested Satyendra Jain. Despite frequently asking the court, they were not able to present any evidence. Then they went to Manish’s house and conducted a search, but they discovered nothing. After Amanatullah’s arrest many more MLAs may have to face the same fate.
The AAP hit out sharply regarding Amanatullah’s arrest and said it was a conspiracy to implicate the MLA in a fake case with the aim of defaming the party.
Meanwhile, Delhi Police have arrested Amanatullah Khan’s close associate and business partner, Hamid Ali, under the Arms Act on Saturday. The police found a pistol and some bullets and also recovered Rs 12 lakh in cash from his residence.
