Delhi CM Kejriwal celebrates Diwali by visiting the homes of Manish Sisodia and MP Sanjay Singh

On Diwali, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal visited the families of his incarcerated former deputy, Manish Sisodia, and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh. The visit included a stop at AB 17 Mathura Road, where Sisodia’s family currently resides. This location was previously allocated to Sisodia and is now officially designated to Delhi Minister Atishi. The meeting took place a day after Sisodia, with special court permission, visited his ailing wife.

Following the visit to Sisodia’s family, Kejriwal proceeded to Sanjay Singh’s house. Visuals from the meeting with Singh’s family showed Kejriwal accompanied by his wife, Sunita Kejriwal. In another video, interactions between Kejriwal and Sisodia’s wife were captured.

On the preceding day, Sisodia, escorted by police personnel, reached his home on Mathura Road in a prison van and returned to jail after the allotted meeting time expired. During the brief meeting with his wife, the AAP leader lit diyas on ‘Choti Diwali.’

Sharing a poignant photo of Sisodia hugging his wife as he left for jail, Arvind Kejriwal expressed his concern, stating, “This picture is very painful.” He questioned the fairness of subjecting a person who offered hope to the nation’s underprivileged children to such injustice.

Manish Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on February 26 and subsequently by the ED on March 9 in connection with a liquor case. Despite multiple bail petitions, including those rejected by the Supreme Court, High Court, and trial court, Sisodia remains in custody.

AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh is also in judicial custody until November 24 in connection with the Delhi Excise policy money laundering case.
