Delhi: CM Kejriwal meets AAP leader Satyendar Jain in hospital, calls him ‘the brave man, the hero’

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday met Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former minister Satyendar Jain at the hospital. Jain was in Tihar Jail for almost a year after he was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case. He has been granted interim bail for six weeks after suffering a head injury in a fall in the prison bathroom.

Kejriwal shared pictures of his meeting with Jain on his social media accounts. In the photo, both the leaders are seen hugging each other and talking. Sharing the photos, Kejriwal wrote – Met Bahadur… Hero. In the photographs, Jain’s head is bandaged and his left arm is in a sling.

The former Delhi minister is undergoing treatment at Lok Nayak Hospital. He reportedly suffered a blood clot due to his head injury, but is currently stable. While granting him interim bail, the Supreme Court had asked the AAP leader not to speak to the media and that he should not leave the National Capital Region.

The Enforcement Directorate’s case against Jain is based on a complaint filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The CBI FIR alleged that the former minister had acquired disproportionate assets between 2015 and 2017. Satyendar Jain, along with former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who is now in jail for alleged corruption in the liquor policy case, had resigned as minister in February.
