New Delhi: The judicial custody of jailed AAP leader and former deputy CM Manish Sisodia in the Delhi Liquor Policy case has been extended for 14 days. Manish Sisodia was produced in Rouse Avenue Court. Where the court ordered to keep him in judicial custody till 17 April.
On behalf of the CBI, the Public Prosecutor told the court that the investigation is at a critical juncture. That’s why we are demanding extension of judicial custody of Sisodia.
During the appearance of Manish Sisodia in the court, the workers started protesting at the AAP headquarters. Police have put up police barricades in front of Row Avenue Court and BJP Headquarters for security.
In this case all recoveries have already been done. Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia had said, ‘I fully cooperated in the CBI investigation. When he called, he attended.’ He had also cited in his bail plea that he has deep roots in the society due to being active in public life. Keeping this in mind, he is entitled to get bail.
Earlier last month, the special CBI court in Delhi had rejected Sisodia’s bail plea. You had then said that Manish Sisodia would approach the Delhi High Court against the decision of the lower court. Manish Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on February 26 on charges of corruption in Delhi’s new liquor policy.
