Delhi Murder Case: Aftab Poonawala had murdered his girlfriend Shraddha Walker in the month of May last. The accused had cut Shraddha's body into pieces and kept them in the fridge.
Delhi Shraddha Murder Case: Aftab Poonawala, accused in the Shraddha murder case, appeared in the Delhi court through video conferencing on Thursday (November 17) evening. In view of the security and sensitivity of the case, the application for the production of accused Aftab Poonawalla was approved through video conferencing. The court has extended the police remand of Aftab by 5 days. The police had asked for Aftab’s remand for 10 days.
Hearing has also been held on the application of Delhi Police for Aftab’s narco test. Aftab has given consent for the narco test. Earlier, regarding the production, the police had said that bringing him to the court could harm him because some people, angry with the murder of Shraddha Walker, could beat him up inside the courtroom or in the court premises. A large group of lawyers were heard outside the courtroom shouting “Hang him, hang him”.
Murder was executed on May 18
Aftab Poonawala had murdered his live-in partner Shraddha Walker in the month of May last. This matter has now been revealed. Aftab had cut Shraddha Walker’s dead body into 35 pieces and kept them inside the refrigerator in the house and used to go to Mehrauli forest every night to throw them. This murder case has again started the debate on “Love Jihad” on social media.
Both met on dating app
Aftab Poonawalla and Shraddha Walker met on the dating app Bumble. Both worked in a call center in Mumbai. His parents had objections to their relationship, after which he shifted from Mumbai to Delhi. In the month of May last, there was a debate about the marriage of both of them. After which Aftab strangled Shraddha to death. The girl’s father has demanded capital punishment for the accused.
Inspired by web series ‘Dexter’
The accused has confessed before the police that he killed Shraddha. Before working in the call center, Aftab used to work as a chef. Aftab was inspired by the web series named Dexter. Aftab got the idea of disposing the body from the same web series.
