Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court on Tuesday granted bail to Poonam Jain, wife of Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain, in a money laundering case.
New Delhi: Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on Tuesday granted bail to Poonam Jain, wife of Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain, in a money laundering case. Meanwhile, Satyendar Jain has also filed a fresh bail plea in the case. The court will hear his bail plea on August 27. The bail plea of co-accused Ankush and Vaibhav Jain in the case will also be heard on August 27.
Earlier this month, on August 6, the Delhi minister’s wife was granted interim bail by the court observing that Poonam Jain, Sunil Kumar Jain and Ajit Kumar Jain were not arrested during the investigation and earlier by the Enforcement Directorate. The charge sheet has already been filed.
According to the charge sheet, 10 accused, including four private firms and Delhi cabinet minister Satyendar Jain, are accused in the money laundering case. Satyendar Jain, Ankush Jain and Vaibhav Jain were arrested by the probe agency Enforcement Directorate and are currently in judicial custody.
The ED seized Rs 2.85 crore in cash and 133 gold coins weighing 1.80 kg from the associates of Satyendar Jain during its day-long raids conducted at different places in Delhi and the National Capital Region on June 6. Along with this, different incriminating documents and digital records were also seized by the ED during these raids.
