Delhi court has granted a divorce to singer Honey Singh and his wife, Shalini Talwar

New Delhi : A significant legal development unfolded as a Delhi Court, after over a year of legal proceedings, granted a divorce to renowned singer Honey Singh and his wife, Shalini Talwar.

The backdrop of this divorce case included allegations of domestic violence made by Honey Singh’s wife against the singer. However, after reaching a settlement agreement to resolve all their disputes, Principal Judge (Family Court) Paramjeet Singh at Saket Court issued the divorce decree.

As part of their settlement, an alimony of ₹ one crore was agreed upon by the couple the previous year. Concurrently, Shalini Talwar withdrew her domestic violence case against Honey Singh. The legal battle had spanned more than a year.

Shalini Talwar and Honey Singh had been married for approximately 13 years, with their marriage commencing in January 2011. Their mutual plea for divorce was filed in September 2022.

During the court proceedings, in response to a question posed by the judge, Honey Singh affirmed that there was no possibility of reconciling and living with his wife. Advocate Ishan Mukherjee represented Honey Singh and disclosed that the court had granted the divorce decree after accepting the second motion.

Due to the sensitive and private nature of this matrimonial dispute, further details were not shared by the advocate.
