Delhi court sent AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan to 14 days in judicial custody amidst corruption case

New Delhi: The Rouse Avenue court in Delhi today sentenced AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan to 14 days in judicial custody in connection with a corruption case.

A bail application has been filed by the MLA’s legal team and will be considered tomorrow.

Khan was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on September 16 in connection with anomalies in recruiting for the Delhi Waqf Board after day-long raids at his and his aides’ homes. Amanatullah Khan was remanded to four days in police custody the day after his arrest.

The MLA’s aide, Hamid Ali, was detained by the Delhi Police on the same day, after an unlicensed pistol and Rs 12 lakh in cash were found at his home during the raids.

Hamid Ali made it clear in front of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) that Amanatullah Khan used to keep weapons and cash at his home and that all the transactions were taking place on the politician’s instructions.
