Delhi Excise Policy Case: BJP’s massive protest against CM Kejriwal, demands his resignation

New Delhi: After Arvind Kejriwal’s name appeared in the ED charge sheet related to the alleged scam in Delhi’s new excise policy, the BJP protested strongly outside the Aam Aadmi Party office on Saturday. BJP workers raised slogans while opening a front against the Kejriwal government and demanded the resignation of the Chief Minister.

The BJP has taken an aggressive stand on the allegations of corruption related to the liquor sale policy which was canceled after controversies. The protests were also organized out of the offices of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the BJP workers also clashed with police while trying to breach the barricades. In the videos, which are doing rounds on social media, police can be seen pushing the BJP workers who are trying to jump across the police barricades.

The BJP hit out at the Chief Minister for questioning the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) supplementary charge sheet in the case and said it proved that he was involved in corruption. A court on Thursday accepted the supplementary chargesheet against five individuals and seven companies in connection with alleged irregularities in the Delhi Excise Policy, which was withdrawn by the AAP government last year after recommending a CBI probe into alleged corruption.

Delhi BJP working president Virendra Sachdeva said that if Arvind Kejriwal has any morality, Madan Lal Khurana should resign if his name appears in the ED chargesheet, following the morality shown by him in 1995 when he was accused.

The Enforcement Directorate claimed that a part of the alleged Rs 100 crore “kickback” earned from the excise policy was used by the Aam Aadmi Party in last year’s Goa assembly elections. Kejriwal has said on this matter that the matter was “fake” and its purpose has come to help the BJP. Kejriwal said that the party which rules at the center dominates the agencies like ED.
