New Delhi: A fierce fire broke out on Thursday (December 1, 2022) evening near Bada Tooti Chowk in Old Delhi’s Sadar Bazaar area, in which several vehicles including two-wheelers were gutted. The fire department said in a statement that four fire tenders were rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. However, there is no news of any casualty so far.
“We received a call that some vehicles had taken fire, so we dispatched four fire engines to the scene. The fire has been extinguished,” a senior official was quoted as saying by sources.
It took an hour for firefighters to put out the fire. By 8 p.m., the fire had been completely extinguished, the official added.
According to officials, seven cars and a couple of two-wheelers had taken fire.
Earlier on Wednesday, a cloth shop caught fire in Delhi’s Chandni Chowk area on Wednesday. Giving information about this incident, the fire officials had said that the fire brigade personnel had received information about the fire around 10.30 pm. After getting the information, six fire tenders reached the spot and doused the fire around 11.30 pm. No casualty was reported in this incident.
