Delhi HC has ordered the police to file an FIR against BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain in a 2018 rape case.
New Delhi: Axe has fallen on senior BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain as the Delhi High Court has ordered the police to register an FIR against BJP leader and former minister Shahnawaz Hussain in a 2018 rape case. The court has urged the police to complete the probe within a period of three months.
The Delhi High Court, after going through all the facts, said it was evident from the part of the police that the cops were unenthusiastic about lodging an FIR in the case.
The court further added that the lower court had dismissed the police argument and observed that the woman’s complaint made a case for a cognizable offence.
A Delhi-based woman moved to a lower court and filed a petition to lodge an FIR against the BJP leader in 2018. Her allegation was that Hussain raped her and threatened her with dire consequences as well.
