New Delhi: On Thursday, Delhi Police said that a couple was found dead in the OYO hotel room in the Maujpur area of the national capital. He added that the post-mortem report has revealed that the woman was strangled to death while the man committed suicide after killing her.
The women identified as Ayesha. She was 27-year-old, a resident of Loni. The man identified as Sohrab. He was 28-year-old, a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut. Their body were found in the hotel room on October 27.
According to the police, a call was received about two dead bodies at Kings Stay Oyo Hotel at 8.05 pm on October 27, following which a police team reached the spot. According to the official said that a case of murder has been registered after post-mortem report. Further investigation is in progress.
Giving information about this incident, DCP said it was found that Sohrab and Ayesha had checked in to the Oyo hotel at 01:02 pm and had booked the room for four hours. He said that when they did not come out, the hotel staff knocked on the door around 07:45 pm. When there was no response, they called the beat constable. The room was opened in the presence of police.
DCP futher said that Sohrab was found hanging from the ceiling fan with the help of a nylon rope. Ayesha was found dead on the bed. There were injury marks on her neck. A half-page handwritten (in Hindi) suicide note was found lying next to the bed. Ayesha claimed that the two loved each other and had decided to end their lives together.
