Delhi: IndiGo flight misses taxiway after landing, runway blocked for 15 mins

New Delhi: On Sunday morning, according to the report, an IndiGo Amritsar-Delhi aircraft missed the taxiway after landing at the Delhi airport, leading to blocking of one of the runways for around 15 minutes.

New Delhi: On Sunday morning, according to the report, an IndiGo Amritsar-Delhi aircraft missed the taxiway after landing at the Delhi airport, leading to blocking of one of the runways for around 15 minutes.

At the Indira Gandhi International Airport the incident impacted flight operations. According to the source, the A320 aircraft operating flight number 6E 2221 went off the short end of runway 28/10 after missing the scheduled taxiway at Indira Gandhi International Airport.

The report added that adter the incident,runway was blocked forAs a result of around 15 minutes and impacted some flight operations. An Indigo towing van was soon deployed to tow the aircraft from the end of the runway to the parking bay. IndiGo’s comments on the incident are awaited.

Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport is the largest airport in the country and operates around 1,400 flights daily. It has four operational runways. In another incident involving Indigo Airlines, a flight from Mumbai to Lucknow was reportedly delayed after a male passenger reportedly said there was a ‘bomb under his seat,’ reports.

The incident is of 26 January. According to Mumbai Police, a passenger aboard Indigo flight number 6E 5264 from Mumbai to Lucknow reported that there was a bomb under his seat, after which a thorough investigation of the flight was conducted.

According to the report, as soon as information about this incident was received, Mumbai Police and airport agencies reached the spot and investigated. Mumbai Police said, “No suspicious object was found during the investigation.”
