Delhi: L-G VK Saxena orders chief secretary to probe AAP government subsidies to BSES discoms

New Delhi: Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has ordered a probe into alleged irregularities in the power subsidy case. He has asked the Chief Secretary to investigate the matter of giving subsidy money to private company BSES Discom by the Delhi government. The LG has asked the Chief Secretary to submit the report in seven days.

New Delhi: Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has ordered a probe into alleged irregularities in the power subsidy case. He has asked the Chief Secretary to investigate the matter of giving subsidy money to private company BSES Discom by the Delhi government. The LG has asked the Chief Secretary to submit the report in seven days.

According to sources in the LG office, the complainants, including senior lawyers and jurists, had filed the complaint alleging irregularities in payment of subsidy to power companies. After which the LG has now ordered a probe in this matter. As of now, there has been no response from the Delhi government or the BSES discoms on these allegations.

In fact, the LG Secretariat has received complaints of irregularities in the power subsidy case. The complainant has alleged that the scam was allegedly committed by Aam Aadmi Party spokesperson Jasmin Shah and Delhi Dialogue Commission vice-chairman and AAP MP, ND Gupta’s son Naveen Gupta.

It has been said in the complaint that Kejriwal’s government has appointed director of Directors in the Board of Directors of private discoms, BSES Capital Power Limited. BrPL and BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL), Anil Ambani Group Company. These private discoms have 49% stake in the Delhi Government.

In Delhi, the state government provides free electricity to the consumers up to a fixed unit. The cost of electricity consumed up to the specified limit is paid by the government directly to the company.
