New Delhi: Delhi Police broke up an extortion group gang that filed FIRs alleging gang rape. An offender was detained by the officials, and fake voter identification and an Aadhar card were also recovered.
A woman who has been identified as ND (name withheld) lodged a complaint with Dwarka South Police, alleging that she was raped. ND produced a voter ID with her name on it throughout the examination, but she was hesitant to reveal her residence address. After developing suspicions, officials checked her voter ID with the Election Commission and discovered it was fake.
All those implicated in the rape case were questioned about the incident as part of the ongoing investigation. The Call Details Record (CDR) and Customer Acquisition Form (CAF) of all the accused persons and the complainant were probed.
The matter then became crystal clear that the accused had not visited Delhi’s Dwarka area. After getting all the details of the CDR of the complainant, it was found she also did not visit the place of the incident.
After further investigation, her real name came into the limelight, and she had another gangrape complaint filed at Seemapuri with her real name.
Further investigation revealed that similar gang rape cases had been registered in Haryana, Delhi, and Dwarka South.On the basis of this evidence, a case was registered against ND.
During the investigation, it was found that several people were also found to be involved in the sextortion group. Meanwhile, police arrested ND and further probes have been going on to nab other people involved in the gang.
