Delhi: Police files case against Delhi Govt school over “I Love Manish Sisodia” banner

New Delhi: A case has been registered in the case of putting a poster on the gate of a government school in Delhi in support of former Deputy CM of Delhi Manish Sisodia. The Delhi Police has registered a case against the coordinator of the School Management Committee (SMC) in this case.

Taking cognizance of the matter, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) had ordered the Delhi Police to register a case. The police have registered a case against Ghajala for causing damage to government property under section 3 of Delhi Public Property Act. It is known that BJP MP Manoj Tiwari had also complained that children were making posters in support of Sisodia by setting up stalls outside the school.

NCPCR President Priyank Kanungo has said that school children are being used to protect an accused. The glorification of criminals will have a wrong effect on the tender minds of children.

The FIR stated that SMC coordinator Ghajala along with Principal Geeta Rani of Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya put up posters in Shastri Park area of Delhi on Saturday morning. He asked the girl students to climb a desk at the gate of the school and put up a poster. The principal in charge of the school building provided desks from the school, which were used to put up posters supporting Sisodia. Gajala is accused of making the girl students sit outside the school and putting up posters with the banner ‘I love Manish Sisodia’ at the school gate to gain political advantage.

Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on Saturday extended the CBI remand of Manish Sisodia, arrested in the liquor policy scam, by two days. The next hearing on Sisodia’s bail plea will be on March 10. The CBI arrested Sisodia on February 26 after an eight-hour-long interrogation. On February 27, the court sent him to CBI custody for 5 days.
