Delhi Police Issue New Year’s Eve Traffic Advisory for Connaught Place

In an effort to ensure the smooth flow of traffic during New Year’s Eve celebrations, the Delhi Police have issued a comprehensive traffic advisory for Connaught Place and its surrounding areas. The restrictions will be enforced from 8 pm on December 31 until the conclusion of the celebrations.

Restricted Areas and Traffic Diversion Points


No Entry Points: Vehicles will not be allowed beyond specified areas, including Mandi House roundabout, Bengali Market roundabout, north foot of Ranjit Singh Flyover, Minto Road, Chelmsford Road, Munje Chowk, RK Ashram Marg, Gole Market roundabout, Patel Chowk, Kasturba Gandhi Road, Jai Singh Road, Panchkuian Road, Windsor Place roundabout, Buta Singh Marg roundabout, and State Entry Road.

Connaught Place Circles: Vehicular traffic will not be allowed in the inner, middle, or outer circles of Connaught Place, except for vehicles with valid passes.

Parking Arrangements


Motorists are advised to park their vehicles at designated areas near Connaught Place, including locations such as Gole Dak Khana, Pt. Pant Marg, Bhai Veer Singh Marg, Mandi House, Minto Road, Panchkuian Road, Chitragupta Road, Basant Road, and more. Limited parking space near Connaught Place will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Alternative Routes to New Delhi Railway Station


Commuters heading to New Delhi Railway Station can take alternative routes to avoid the restricted areas. Options include routes via Ram Manohar Lohiya Park Street, Mandir Marg, Rani Jhansi Road, Jhandewalan roundabout, and Deshbandhu Gupta Road.

East to West and North to South Movement Routes


Suggested routes for movement from North Delhi to South Delhi include the Ring Road from ISBT to Ashram or routes via Delhi Gate, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Mathura Road. Commuters are advised to avoid specific routes in West Delhi, including Najafgarh Road and Outer Ring Road.

For movement from East Delhi to West Delhi, suggested routes include Ring Road, Bhairon Road, Mathura Road, Subramaniam Bharti Marg, Mother Teresa Crescent, and Park Street.

Traffic Advisory for Specific Areas


Avoiding certain routes in West Delhi, such as Najafgarh Road and Outer Ring Road, is recommended. Additionally, specific instructions are given for Club Road in Punjabi Bagh to manage commercial traffic and ensure smooth flow.

South Delhi and Ambience Mall Advisory


In South Delhi, commuters are advised to avoid specific routes, including Press Enclave Road in Saket and Bhisham Pitamah Marg. Heavy traffic is anticipated near Ambience Mall Vasant Kunj, and alternatives are suggested for smoother travel.
