Delhi: Railway police nabbed an IAF Sergeant for hoax bomb call in a Mumbai Rajdhani Express train

During interrogation, it was found that he made a false call with the intention of delaying the Mumbai Rajdhani Express train saying that there was a bomb in the train.

New Delhi: The Railway Police arrested a sergeant of the Indian Air Force on Saturday evening. The man was arrested from New Delhi Railway Station. Who has been identified as Sunil Sangwan.

During interrogation, it was found that he made a false call with the intention of delaying the Mumbai Rajdhani Express train saying that there was a bomb in the train. The police also said that the sergeant who was caught was under the influence of alcohol, which was picked up from the train’s bogie itself.

The false call from the sergeant caused the train to stand at the station for about an hour. Police sent the train after investigation. It was also revealed in the investigation that the train of the Air Force personnel was missing, so his brother gave false information about the bomb to the police.

The train was to open at 4:55, meanwhile the police control room gets a call at 4:48 that there is a bomb in the train. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Railways) Harish HP said that when the number was ascertained, it was of Sergeant Sunil Sangwan in the Indian Air Force, whose location was visible in a bogie of the train. After this he was arrested.

According to the police, Sangwan was to board a train to his place of posting at the Air Force Station in Santacruz, Mumbai. He was late in reaching the station and in a drunken state made a bomb call to delay the train.
