Delhi Traffic Police Issues Advisory for P-20 Summit Commencing Today

The Delhi traffic police has released an advisory in preparation for the P-20 summit, scheduled to take place from October 12 to October 14 in the national capital during the morning hours.

Delhi Traffic Police Issues Advisory for P-20 Summit Commencing Today

New Delhi: The Delhi Traffic Police has released an advisory ahead of the P-20 Summit, scheduled from October 12 to October 14 in the national capital during the morning hours. According to the advisory issued on Wednesday, the summit meetings will take place at the Yashobhoomi complex (India International Convention and Expo Centre) in Sector 25, Dwarka.

The advisory states that traffic movement will be regulated from 7 am to 10 pm on all three days at key routes including Akbar Road, Sardar Patel Marg to Dhaula Kuan flyover, Mehram Nagar area near the airport, Palam flyover, Ulan Batar road, Panchsheel Marg, Teen Murti Marg, and Dhulsiras Chowk.

Commuters heading to railway stations, hospitals, and ISBT (Inter-State Bus Terminus) have been advised to plan their journeys with extra time to accommodate possible delays due to the event.

Accommodations for the visiting dignitaries have been arranged at several hotels, including Leela Palace near Netaji Nagar, Taj Mahal Hotel at Man Singh Road, ITC Maurya Hotel at SP Marg, Tal Palace Hotel at SP Marg, Roseate House, and JW Marriott at Aerocity.

A senior police official explained the schedule, stating that delegates will travel from their hotels to Yashobhoomi in the morning and return in the evening. The official further elaborated that on October 13, the delegates will travel to Yashobhoomi in the morning, return to their accommodations, and then head to Parliament House in the late evening. On October 14, the delegates will travel to Yashobhoomi in the morning and return in the afternoon. Departures for the airport will commence from the evening of October 14 until October 15.

To alleviate traffic congestion and inconvenience, the public has been encouraged to utilize public transportation. The advisory stressed the importance of cooperation from commuters to ensure the success of the summit.

The P-20 Summit gathers speakers and heads of legislatures from G20 member countries and guest countries to explore how Parliaments can effectively enhance global governance. The event aims to bring a parliamentary perspective to global governance challenges and identify solutions to address them.
