New Delhi: Delhi Police has arrested three people after busting a cow slaughter gang based in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh, which was active in and around Delhi. The police said, “Delhi Police Joint Team of AATS/NED and PS Karawal Nagar busted a cow slaughtering gang of Sambhal (UP) active in Delhi-NCR and solved the cow slaughtering case and arrested three accused.”
An official said that the accused have been identified as Murbat alias Ajju (32), Jahane Alam (30) and Sajid alias Sadwa (28). All these three are residents of Amroha district of Uttar Pradesh. The police also said that a four-wheeler vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been recovered.
The main accused Sajid is a notorious criminal who was earlier caught by the UP Police after an encounter, the official said. He was released from jail in July 2023. According to the police, on December 24, a PCR call was received at the Karawal Nagar police station, in which a tip was received about the discovery of the severed head and other body parts of a cow near Janaki Panchal Vihar.
A Honda City car was used in the incident after analyzing the CCTV footage. North-East Delhi DCP Joy Tirkey said, “When the car’s route was traced, it was found that three people had got off near Seemapuri depot. A police team identified the three suspects and nabbed them from their rented accommodation in Old Mustafabad area.”
On interrogation, he confessed his crime. He revealed that he used to buy ‘Xylaxin’ injection, used to anesthetize cows, from a drug dealer in Jaffrabad and used to pick up stray cows from different areas of Delhi-NCR. The DCP said, “He bought a Honda City car with the money he got by selling cow meat to the customers.
About 17 syringes and 34 needles were also recovered from his possession.The three accused were found involved in more than 15 cases of cow slaughter in Nagali (UP), Shalimar Bagh, Gokulpuri and other areas in the east. The DCP said,”Efforts are being made to trace their involement in other cases as well.”
