New Delhi : The capital Delhi will get a mayor on 22 February. The Lieutenant Governor has stamped the date of February 22 for the meeting of the corporation. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi and the Government of Delhi had sent a proposal on February 22 to hold the election of Mayor and Deputy Mayor on this date.
The Supreme Court on Friday directed the issue of notice for the election of the mayor and the first meeting of the MCD. The Supreme Court said that this notice should be issued within 24 hours. Tell that it is also necessary to mention the date in this notice, on which the election for the post of mayor is to be held.
Kejriwal targeted BJP
Regarding the election, Arvind Kejriwal has said that the order of SC is the victory of democracy. Along with this, he alleged that the SC order proved that both the Lieutenant Governor and the Bharatiya Janata Party were passing ‘illegal and unconstitutional orders’.
