Proper training is essential for the first officers to make them experts so that they can handle the landing of an aircraft. It helps them to land an aircraft in the simulator before they can do it in the aircraft with passengers on board.

In the same manner, a captain has to get training in a simulator before he/she can ask a first officer to land.

A first officer landed a Vistara aircraft in the absence of the captain. Meanwhile, the first officer has not had the proper training in the simulator.

This was a violation of rules and endangered the lives of the passengers on board. In this situation, any kind of mishap can take place, which would be fatal for the passengers and others. A Rs 10 penalty has been slapped on the airlines for their negligence and lapse. The entire incident came off during the landing process in Indore.

It was a major mistake made by Vistara Airlines. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has taken this issue seriously and rightly levelled the fine so that airline companies never dare to repeat the same mistake in the future.
