After Maharashtra, now the political stir is intensifying in Goa. 7 MLAs are missing in meet which is underway in Goa. According to the information, 9 out of 11 MLAs of Congress can go to BJP.

Sources said on Sunday that three Goa Congress MLAs did not attend the party meeting a day before the assembly session. It is discussed that all the MLAs who were absent from the meeting are in touch with BJP. Let us inform that the Legislative Assembly elections were held in the state on February 14, 2022 to elect 40 members of the Eighth Goa Legislative Assembly. At the same time, the results were declared on 10 March 2022.

11 Congress MLAs in Goa
After the elections, a coalition of Bharatiya Janata Party, Goa Forward Party and Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party formed the state government, with Manohar Parrikar becoming the Chief Minister. However, after the death of Manohar Parrikar, Pramod Sawant took oath as the Chief Minister on 19 March 2019. Congress has 11 MLAs in Goa. Of these, seven did not attend today’s meeting.

According to sources, Congress’s CM candidate Digambar Kamat did not attend the meeting of MLAs on Saturday in the assembly elections held in the year 2022. Kamat is reportedly upset that the party’s Michael Lobo was made the leader of the opposition. However, the party has denied this claim. Meanwhile, Goa Assembly Speaker Ramesh Tavkar on Sunday canceled the notification for the election for the post of deputy speaker, which was scheduled to be held on Tuesday.

Congress denies in touch with BJP, says it is a rumour
In fact, Dinesh Gundu Rao, in-charge, had called a meeting of the legislature party on Saturday to chalk out a strategy for the Goa Assembly session starting from Monday, in which all the 11 MLAs of the party attended. Rao said Goa is always full of speculation and we have to work effectively as an opposition. These rumors have been there since the results of the assembly. At the same time, Lobo said that the Congress MLAs are united.

Sources said that Rao arrived in Goa to persuade the MLAs who have made up their mind to join the BJP. This is Congress MLA. Those aspiring to join the BJP have demanded three more important posts in the cabinet.
