New Delhi: Exercise helps us stay fit, not only physically but mentally too. Just like body our brain too needs some exercises that keep it active and sharp. There are in fact some exercises that can boost your memory power and enhance the thinking ability of your brain.

The brain is an important part of our body and it works 24*7 without getting any rest. Where this tries up our mind some relaxation exercises can help it calm down a bit by increasing the connective tissues between the brain cells and enabling them to work more efficiently.

The process which enhances brain capacity are known as neuroplasty. Special brain exercises can benefit our brain in n-number of ways. With age we loose ability to withstand neurological damage can could show signs of slowing or memory loss. To combat it perform regular, targeted brain exercises that can increase your brain’s cognitive reserve.


Meditation is not only the best exercise of the brain, but it also keeps the mind calm. Meditation helps reduce stress and anxiety. Meditation helps to fine-tune your memory and increases brain capacity. Keep in mind that meditation is done in a quiet place only. Try to do meditation for 5 minutes every day.

Try learning new things or a foreign language

You always try to learn something new. New learning improves memory function. If you are interested in anything in your life from any field, then create the passion to learn that skill. Whether you are cooking, eating food or buying vegetables, keep concentration in all your work. This helps to make your brain strong. Pay attention to your eyesight, smell, voice and touch to maintain concentration.

Make a list of grocery items, things to do, or anything else that comes to mind and memorise it. An hour or so later, see how many items you can recall. Make the list as challenging as possible for the greatest mental stimulation.
