Dombivli Boiler Blast: So far 10 people have died due to boiler explosion in Dombivli factory in Maharashtra. At the same time, more than 60 people are injured. The incident took place in a factory located in MIDC area. Police have registered a case of culpable homicide against the factory owner. A day after the accident, some CCTV videos of the time of the incident have surfaced. The boiler explosion in the video has created a stir.

What is the whole matter?
According to media reports, there was an explosion at Amudan Chemical Factory at 1.40 pm on Thursday due to a boiler burst. So far 10 bodies have been recovered from the spot. The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced that the cost of treatment of the injured will be borne by the state government. The government has also announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for the families of the deceased. He has ordered a high level investigation into the Dombivli Boiler Blast case.

Opposition targeted

Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Legislative Council, Ambadas Danve said that there is no Industrial Safety Department here. Such a factory should not have been located near a residential area. This is the biggest crime. A technical person should have been there. An ordinary worker or laborer cannot handle the reactor. The management of this factory is responsible for the explosion. There are about 450 factories in the area. This is not the first incident, it is the fifth or sixth such accident in this industrial area since 2016.

cooling operation in progress

Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation (KDMC) fire officer Dattatreya Shelke said that there is a paint company right next to the factory. There is still some fire there. Along with the paint company, cooling operations are also going on at the incident site. Three more bodies were recovered this morning. Now the total number of deaths has reached 10. In this case, NDRF Assistant Commandant Sarang Kurve said that the fire is under control. At present the situation is normal here. Search and rescue operations are underway.

The sound of the explosion was heard far away

An eyewitness said that the sound of the explosion was heard up to a kilometer away. The explosion caused cracks in the glass windows of nearby buildings. Many houses were also damaged. Disaster Management Department official Yasin Tadvi had said that the sound of the explosion was heard at around 1.40 pm. After the explosion, the fire spread to three nearby factories. A plume of smoke and fire could be seen from quite a distance.

Apart from Chief Minister Shinde, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also expressed grief over the incident. He had informed by tweeting on Twitter that eight people have been suspended in the case. Fadnavis had written that teams of NDRF, TDRF and fire brigade have been called to the spot. Relief and rescue work is going on continuously.
