Domestic LPG price exceeds Rs 1,000, hiked by Rs 3.50 from today

New Delhi: Incessant fuel and LPG cylinder price hikes have made the lives of ordinary people difficult. The skyrocketing price of essential commodities has broken the backbone of the middle and lower classes of society. A big debate has been taking place everywhere about how to maintain a family budget in this situation.

The price of cooking gas LPG increased by 3.50 per cylinder on Thursday. This is the second increase in cylinder prices this month.

The price of a domestic cylinder has crossed Rs 1000. A 14 kg cylinder will cost Rs. 1003 in Delhi. In Mumbai, the domestic LPG price will be available at Rs 1002.50 per cylinder. Meanwhile, in Kolkata, a consumer needs to pay Rs 1,029 for a 14-kg cylinder. Chennai customers have to loosen their wallets wider. They will have to pay Rs 1,058.50 for a domestic cylinder from today.

The hike comes on the back of a 50 per cylinder increase effected on May 7. Prior to that, prices were increased by the same amount on March 22.

Earlier this month, the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder was increased on May 1 by around 102 to 2,355.5 in Delhi. The price of a 5-kg LPG commercial cylinder was also increased to 655.

Since the declaration of five state assembly poll results, the prices of petrol, diesel, and LPG have been rising on a regular basis. On March 22, the subsidised domestic LPG cylinder was increased by 50. Earlier, after October 6, 2021, there was no change in the rate of domestic LPG cylinders.
