Earthquake: After Nepal and Delhi-NCR earthquake, Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh jolted by 4.3 magnitude earthquake

Uttarakhand: A earthquake tremors were felt in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand on Wednesday morning , according to the National Center for Seismology. Its intensity was measured at 4.3 magnitude on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 5 km. The earthquake in Pithoragarh occurred at around 6.27 am on Wednesday. However, no news of casualties or property damage has been received.

Uttarakhand: A earthquake tremors were felt in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand on Wednesday morning , according to the National Center for Seismology. Its intensity was measured at 4.3 magnitude on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 5 km. Hours before , an earthquake of 6.3-magnitude on the Richter scale hit Nepal in the wee hours of Wednesday. The tremors were felt in parts of the Delhi-NCR region as well.

The earthquake in Pithoragarh occurred at around 6.27 am on Wednesday. A tweet by the agency read, “Earthquake of Magnitude: 4.3, Occurred on 09-11-2022, 06:27:13 IST, Lat: 29.87 & Long: 80.49, Depth: 5 Km, Location: Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, India.” However, no news of casualties or property damage has been received.

Experts said in 10 years, Uttarakhand has felt around 700 tremors and the big one is yet to come. Three days ago as well, Uttarakhand had been struck by an earthquake. An earthquake of magnitude 4.5 hit Tehri in Uttarakhand on Nov 6 at 8:33 AM according to the National Center for Seismology. No casualties were reported.

At least six people have died after a house collapsed in the Doti district of Nepal following the earthquake. The earthquake struck Nepal around 1:57 am on Wednesday and was the third one in five yours in the country. As per data on National Center for Seismology, Nepal recorded first earthquake of 4.9 magnitude at 8.52 pm on Tuesday, followed by 3.5 magnitude at 9.41 pm. The third earthquake, of 6.3 magnitude, hit the country at 1.57 am, tremors of which were felt in Delhi-NCR.
