Earthquake: Magnitude of 4.7 earthquake hits China’s Hotan

China: A 4.7 magnitude earthquake has occurred in the city of Hotan, China. The epicenter of the earthquake was 263 km southeast of Hotan. Hotan is the capital city of China's Xinjiang province, which is part of western China.

China: A 4.7 magnitude earthquake has occurred in the city of Hotan, China. The epicenter of the earthquake was 263 km southeast of Hotan. Hotan is the capital city of China’s Xinjiang province, which is part of western China.

The Hotan earthquake occurred at 2.32 pm and its depth was 17 km. No loss of life has been reported so far. The earthquake’s epicentre was 35.053°N and 81.395°E, respectively.

Recently there was a strong earthquake on the border of China and Tajikistan. The epicenter of the earthquake was about 82 km from the nearest border along the China-Tajikistan border. Strong tremors were felt in Kashgar and Artux in the western part of Xinjiang region. A magnitude 7.3 earthquake was felt near China’s Xinjiang region and the border with Tajikistan.

It is worth noting that recently there was a terrible earthquake in Turkey and Syria. Thousands of buildings were destroyed in this earthquake and more than 50000 people lost their lives trapped in its debris. Several thousand people are still injured and undergoing treatment. The death toll from the earthquake continues to rise.
