Earthquake of 4.4 magnitude strikes Tajikistan; No casualties reported

Tajikistan Earthquake: After Ecuador a magnitude 4.4 earthquake struck Tajikistan. Its depth was 170 km below the ground. This earthquake occurred at 11:31 in the afternoon. No casualties have been reported due to the earthquake.

Dushanbe: Earthquake tremors were felt in Tajikistan on Sunday after Ecuador. It was measured 4.4 on the Richter scale. The National Center for Seismology (NCS) gave information on Sunday.

According to NCS, the earthquake originated at a depth of 170 km. It came at 11.31 minutes and 25 seconds. No casualty has been reported so far.

Earlier, 14 people were killed in a powerful earthquake that hit Ecuador and a coastal region in northern Peru on Saturday. Many homes, schools and medical centers were destroyed. The US Geological Survey (USGS) measured the earthquake’s magnitude at 6.8. The earthquake originated approximately 10 km (6.2 mi) from the town of Balao in Guayas Province, at a depth of 66.4 km (41.3 mi).

Ecuador’s President Guillermo Lasso appealed to the people to maintain peace. Older houses in Cuenca have been damaged, according to Quito’s risk management office. Before this, thousands of people had died due to the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria, while many people were injured. India also sent its team to Turkey for relief and rescue work. The earthquake had caused heavy loss of life and property.
