Earthquake of magnitude 4.5 hits Ladakh, no casualties reported

Jammu-Kashmir: Earthquake tremors were felt in Ladakh and Jammu Kashmir on Saturday night. The magnitude of the earthquake in Ladakh was 4.5 on the Richter scale. At the same time, after 10 minutes, earthquake tremors were felt in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. The intensity on the Richter scale was 4.4.

Jammu-Kashmir: Earthquake tremors were felt in Ladakh and Jammu Kashmir on Saturday night. The magnitude of the earthquake in Ladakh was 4.5 on the Richter scale. At the same time, after 10 minutes, earthquake tremors were felt in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. The intensity on the Richter scale was 4.4.

According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake in Ladakh occurred at 9:44 pm. While the earthquake in Doda occurred 10 minutes later at 9:55 pm. The epicenter of the earthquake in Ladakh was 271 km from Leh. At the same time, the epicenter of the earthquake in Doda remained 18 km underground.

According to the information, there has been no news of any loss of life or property due to the earthquake. The tremors of the earthquake were again felt in the hilly areas of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. This time the epicenter of the earthquake was Ramban. Here is the seventh shock in Jammu and Kashmir in five days. Jammu and Kashmir is considered very sensitive from the point of view of earthquake. These tremors are being felt especially in Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban since a week.

The intensity of this earthquake, which occurred at 2.30 pm on Saturday afternoon, has been measured at 3 on the Richter scale and its epicenter is five kilometers below the ground in Ramban. People are in panic due to continuous tremors.

Earlier on Tuesday, six houses were damaged and two girls were injured in the earthquake in Doda district adjacent to Ramban and different parts of the Kashmir Valley. After this, tremors were felt five times on Thursday, 14 June.
