Eat this to avoid the risk of skin cancer!

According to the information given through a research, consuming tomatoes on a daily basis might help you to reduce the risk of skin cancer.

Researchers say that fresh tomatoes are packed with active compounds present in it called Lycopene and Anthocyanins, which are mainly responsible for curing the skin related problems. These components are now also found in various skin products and in most cosmetics.

The experts carried out experiments on mice, in which the mice were given 10% of tomato powder as a part of their regular diet for nearly 35 weeks. Then, they were exposed to UV rays. Experts believe that pigmenting compounds that give colour to tomatoes may also help ward off and prevent the damaging effects of UV rays, reducing the risk of skin cancer. From this experiment, it was being concluded that regular consumption of tomatoes reduced the chances of skin cancer tumour formation in male mice by a whopping 50%.

Besides skin problems, tomatoes are also beneficial in keeping your bones healthy as they are loaded with calcium and vitamin K. While vitamin A and C present in tomatoes helps in keeping the body immune and also eliminates the harmful free radicals from the body and in addition to that Chromium present in tomatoes is very beneficial in keeping blood sugar management good.
