New Delhi: The Election Commission has been preparing to dispatch election gadgets like ballot papers, special pens for marking the voters, ballot boxes, and so on from Tuesday in the wake of July 18 presidential polls.
All the poll material will have to be sent to various state legislative assemblies where voting will take place.
Besides all the legislative assemblies, voting will be held in Parliament House. Elected MPs and elected MLAs will elect the president. MLCs have no right to vote.
Delhi and Puducherry are two union territories with legislative assemblies where MLAs will cast their votes in the upcoming presidential polls.
Droupadi Murmu, the NDA’s nominated candidate, is set to win easily. Currently, the BJP and its allies are comfortably placed. Several other parties have decided to favour the NDA candidate.
Meanwhile, the veteran leader of yesteryear, Yashwant Sinha, is a candidate from the opposition. The Congress, TMC, and several other regional parties are supporting Mr Singh.
It seems that Droupadi Mummy will be the next president of the country
